The Yoga of Orchids
Hi friends!
I was fortunate to be able to visit the orchid show at the Chicago Botanic Gardens this past weekend (notice my new header photo!). The theme this year was Feelin' Groovy and there were about a zillion incredibly colorful orchids in a very 60s-forward display. It was a riot of color and fun! The background music was hits from the 60s and everyone in the crowd was humming along. The horticulturists that created the display did a wonderful job and it brought me a moment of joy in an otherwise gray and windy day in February.

There are hundreds of orchids in each ray of sunlight!
Orchids are a diverse family of plants - they can grow in deserts or in tropical forests. Some need soil to survive and some cling to bark or stone and draw nourishment from the environment there.
And that's the yoga of orchids. They are flexible in where and how they grow. Their roots may dangle, but they are strong. Each bloom is beautiful and unique, radiating grace for all to see.
Sounds groovy to me!
Join me this week as we explore our own flexibility.
Love & joy,
