Jubilance Part III
Hello friends,
We continue to find more jubilance in June! Let's keep finding joy this month. Here's another fun photo from the Arboretum.
Scamp - The Fox Squirrel
Scamp is an 8 foot tall squirrel - and if you've ever had squirrels in your attic (I have!) you may not be a big fan. But Scamp is full of joyful and positive energy and that's what we're looking for in June.
It's always interesting to watch squirrels move. They zip from branch to branch with purpose and playfulness, often chasing each other up and down the tree trunks. I'm always astounded by the leaps that they take from one tree to the next. They seem to move without fear. They're alert, flexible, and very much in the present moment - they have to be present or they might fall! These are the same things that we practice when we're on our yoga mats.
Scamp, while not a real squirrel, is a huge, colorful reminder to stay present and keep noticing the joy around us.
We might find joy in nature, in movement, in stillness, or in art.
Some of us might find joy in a spontaneous moment and some find it in a ritual occasion.
Some might even find it watching squirrels jump between branches!
It doesn't matter where it comes from.
It matters that it's joy.
Love & joy,
Nina G
