Jubilance Part II
Hello friends,
There is so much jubilance in June!
We went to see the new Vivid Creatures exhibit at the Morton Arboretum - I strongly recommend visiting. There are five whimsical, happy re-creations of native Illinois wildlife placed along the trails.
I think that my favorite is the snail named Spectra - modeled after a brittle button snail. In real life, a brittle button snail can be found throughout Illinois in moist woodlands, under fallen trees and leaves on forest floors. Its shell is less than 1" long.
But here is the artists' (Heather and Fez BeGaetz) rendition:
Spectra is 16 feet long. That's jubilant!
This oversized, brilliantly colorful snail is a celebration of the small and the steady. The arboretum placed Spectra at the top of a hill on a 1/2 mile loop towards the highway. It takes some effort to get there, but when you do, the payoff is amazing. You can't help but pause and smile and revel in the joy of a 16' vibrant-hued snail.
And there's our yoga for Jubilant June!
There is no need to rush, because snails don't rush.
We can take our time and enjoy the journey.
When we finally arrive at our destination, we can pause and smile and revel in the joy around us.
Enjoy the week ahead, my friends. Find the joy that's out there. Share it with your friends.
Love & joy,
Nina G
