Jubilant June!
Hello friends,
We turned the calendar page to June today and here in the northern hemisphere we are fast approaching summer.
The jubilance—and the yoga—of June waits for us outside!
It's a feast for the senses:
the taste of fresh, seasonal produce
the smell of the rain and the freshly turned earth
the feeling of warmth upon your skin
the view of the rich colors of nature
the sounds of birds and people outdoors
The yoga of June asks us to explore all of those sensations. It invites us to slow down and to marvel at the beauty around us. We can revel in the quiet warmth that builds throughout the day. June feeds our joy with amazing aromas, vistas, and sounds.
Sometimes there just aren’t enough words to describe it. So I turned to one of the classic poets:
“When storm-clouds rumble in the sky and June showers come down,
The moist east wind comes marching over the heath to blow its bagpipes among the bamboos.
Then crowds of flowers come out of a sudden, from nobody knows where, and dance upon the grass in wild glee.”
Let's welcome June with our jubilance!
Let's dance upon the grass in wild glee!
With joy and love,
Nina G
