AWE - Awesome Wondrous & Empowering

Hi friends,

I was visiting the library this week and found a delightful new children's book called Awe by Chana Steifel, with illustrations by Susan Gal. Given our yoga practice these past few weeks, I knew right away that I needed to read it!

This book explores awe in a way that children (and also adults!) can understand. Here's Steifel's definition of awe:

A.W.E.: an Awesome Wondrous Empowering emotion!

When chills travel down your spine, and sudden tears surprise your eyes. When your heart exclaims, “Ooh! Ahh! Whoaaa!” That’s when you know you’ve found AWE.
— Awe by Chana Steifel

I love this interpretation. It is simple and straightforward. It includes the mind, the body, and the spirit in the experience of awe. She further defines awe by giving examples in nature, prayer, music, art, sports, and more. It's a great way to explore awe and a fun book to share with those you love.

Awe is wonder.

Awe connects us to something greater than ourselves.

Awe is limitless.

Be open to experience awe as you go about your week. It is truly an Awesome, Wondrous, & Empowering emotion.

Love & awe,

Nina G
