Pathfinder Yoga

path·find·er (ˈpath-ˌfīn-dər): one that discovers a way; one that explores untraversed regions to mark out a new route.

Hi friends!

On Wednesday afternoon, I paused to watch the Artemis II launch. It was awe-inspiring. Decades of work went into this project and scientists will learn so much from this exploration.

During the broadcast, a commentator described this mission as a pathfinder. The Artemis II astronauts will circle the moon and gather data which is necessary for NASA's next lunar landing. They are the first astronauts in 50 years to travel to the moon's vicinity. Their work will lead the way to a base on the moon and the eventual exploration of Mars.

They are, indeed, pathfinders.

We can be pathfinders, too.

Each time that we step onto our mat, we are exploring. It may not have the glamour of space travel, but the mission is just as vital: we are exploring who we are. We're exploring the body and how it feels this day. We're exploring the self and navigating our relationship to the greater community.

The deeper we explore, the more we uncover our truest selves. This practice builds the resilience that we need to respond, rather than react. We can more easily identify the connections between ourselves and others and we can access that infinite, collective, positive energy.

We are, indeed, pathfinders. We practice yoga.

Love among the stars,

Nina G
